WYNC-New York, the first Public Radio Station presented this series in 1951. At the time, the Korean War was on-going, and there was fear of it becoming a Third World War, with the Red Chinese and Russia, which now had the atom bomb. At the time, the American population well remembered rationing during WWII, and there was a fear of it happening again. The program featured Director James G. Lyons, of The Regional Office of Price Stabilization with weekly programs on subjects such as price controls, regulating beef production and prices, inflation and price stabilization.
