Plot | : | + Program #1. Park-Edwards Productions, San Diego syndication, RCA transcription. Sonny and Buddy visit a medicine show. Sonny sings, "Darkness On The Delta." Buddy sings, "It Isn't Fair." They find themselves kidnapped and working for the show! The first show of the series. The program was recorded at the RCA Victor Studios in Hollywood, the date for each epsisode is subject to correction. Sonny and Buddy sing during each episode, many programs end with a moral for young listeners. The announcer instroduces the story (during the later chapters) with the phrase, "Here they are," using the same tone of voice as Bill Hay introduced, "Amos 'n' Andy." This is the first episode in the Adventures of Sonny and Buddy two brothers aged 13 and 14 portrayed by real life brothers Jack and Sam Edwards. They have returned home from school and their mother has sent them to the grocery store. On their way home they encounter a music wagon owned by a medicine showman. Sonny and Buddy get involved by each singing a song and the medicine man is so impressed he kidnaps the boys to perform in his show. |
