Plot: + "A Logic Named Joe". Do you want to know how to do anything? Just ask your Logic! The script was used previously on "Dimension X" on July 1, 1950. It was on the 3rd day of August that Joe came off the assembly line and on the 4th, Maureen came in to town. And that afternoon Frank Caldwell saved civilization. Maureen was a blond he was crazy about once and Joe was a new 1974 model of logic, which Frank Caldwell had stored down in the cellar. Frank Caldwell was the head service man at the Logic Corporation makers of the machine that does everything for you, well nearly everything. The year is 1974 the Logic machine was working so well that life was soft indeed for repairman Frank Caldwell, that is until that fatal day on August 3rd when suddenly the Logic began doing everything for their users and ding it too well.

What an amazing look into the future of computers (called "Logics" in this drama)! The show is played for giggles, but they really nailed the Internet, with even a Siri-like interface that answers verbal questions and commands! Of course things get out of hand in this story, with the computers giving out private personal information, giving users dangerous information (like "How do I bump off my boss?"), etc. But the Logics creators can't disengage it, as so many users are dependent on the network (from banks to broadcasters), plus: the Logic seems to be taking on a life of its own, outsmarting its creators at (almost) every point. Fun stuff!

Wife and I listened to this one a few weeks ago. The Siri-like interface that answers verbal questions and commands was uncanny.

This one and "Skulking Permit" are my favorites. That writer for "A Logic Called Joe" sure nailed the computer age.
