The Story of Aunt Mary was radio soap opera that aired during the 1940s. Considered one of the best examples of radio soap operas, it featured all sorts of drama stories one could think of. The role of the title character Aunt Mary was given to Jane Morgan. Also in the show were Jane Webb, who played Mary’s niece Peggy and Fred Howard as the mysterious Lefty Larkin.

This series was a West Coast serial drama that was broadcast from 1941 to 1951 by West Coast NBC stations. At different times it was sponsored by Albers Oats, Ben Hur Coffee and Kitchen Craft Flour. Aunt Mary was played by Jane Morgan. Jessie Ward Calvert was played by Irene Tedrow. Lefty Larkin was played by Fred Howard. Peggy Mead was played by Jane Webb. Ben Calvert was played by Pat McGeehan. Kit Calvert was played by Josephine Gilbert. Bill Mead was played by Jack Edwards. David Bowman was played by Jay Novello. Doctor Lew Bracey was played by C. Hames Ware. Also heard in the cast was Tom Collins, Cy Kendall, Betty Gerson, and Ken Peters. Announcers were Vincent Pelletier, and Marvin Miller (1946-1947). Director was George Fogle. Writers were Gil Faust, Virginia Thacker, Lee and Virginia Crosby. The setting for this show was on the Willow Road Farm.
