Mary Noble, Backstage Wife was one of the most successful soaps to come out of “the Hummert Radio Factory”. Backstage Wife debuted August 5, 1935 on the Mutual Broadcasting System, continued on NBC and concluded January 2, 1959 on CBS. Backstage wife told the story of an Iowa stenographer who fell in love and married Larry Noble, a Broadway matinee idol. Broadcast on NBC, Monday through Friday at 4:15. Originating in Chicago. Briefly it was first aired on Mutual August 5, 1935 until March 27, 1936. On the Monday following, (March 30, 1936 the show appeared on NBC sponsored by Dr Lyons until July 1, 1955. From July 4, 1955 to January 2, 1959 it was broadcast on CBS sponsord by Proctor and Gamble.
