Featuring 72 existing episodes of this popular daytime serial (soap opera) that told the story of Ellen, a young widow raising her children in the small town of Simpsonville. It was broadcast by NBC from 1938 to 1956. Florence Freeman played the role of Ellen from 1938 to 1954, then Wendy Drew played the role until the last episode that was broadcast on June 22, 1956, which ended with Anthony proposing to Ellen, with "Will you marry me, Ellen?" and Ellen replied, "Yes, I will, Anthony!" So ended Ellen's 18 years of widowhood. Great soapy radio!!
