Spoiler : Grantland Rice is one of broadcasting's first sports announcers. He announced the first broadcast of a World Series in 1921 that was held at the Polo Grounds in New York. While covering football games, it was Rice that originated the name, "The Four Horsemen" to describe the Notre Dame team's backfield. During the 1930's Rice provided football scores on the Cities Service Concerts for NBC-Radio. Host of Sportsman Club (Sports Stories) on CBS-Radio (1943-1944).
