| Plot | : | + Before the story you can hear news on the US tennis open championship of the time. I love it when we hear little snippets of history live from the time. ”I’m going to kill her” there was something so deadly and final about the statement that it got to Joe. For once in his life he knew enough to keep quiet. He just sat in his corner of the cab watching the big darkly handsome man at the wheel who handled his 30 tonne rig easily as if it were a small car. His face was impassive but that was an illusion because a stormy sea of memory was battering against the inside of his skull like waves of pain that shattered every nerve end as they broke. + Steve Janis is a pro football player with the nickname “Killer” which he has always hated. He is a giant of a man and his coaches demand that he goes in hard but when he breaks the back of an opponent he decides to quit the game. However his wife Pat and mother-in-law Joy are concerned that he is giving up the money and he realises that she has only ever been interested in the money. When he pushes his wife aside in annoyance she sues him for abuse and he is sentenced to a year in jail. He is released after eight months and now as a matter of pride he intends to kill his wife. |
