The speech has touched his heart and inflamed his soul and yet he has feelings of uneasiness and guilt. All around him he hears outcries for freedom justice equality and yet he knows that these fervent demands are not being made for everybody. There are those human beings who will have neither equality nor equity in the brave new world that is soon to be born. As a matter of fact, because of their skin color they are not considered to be human beings at all. + The year is 1775. The fuse of defiance has already been lit, and it is now hissing and sputtering towards the powder keg of rebellion. Thomas Jefferson has feelings of uneasiness and guilt.
