My twelve-year-old daughter and I just finished listening to "Leinengen vs. the Ants" (Escape, 01/14/48, with William Conrad). The room was dark except for the firelight. She sat in her chair beneath a blanket, her knees drawn up to her chin, holding onto two cats for dear life. It was wonderful.

When Leinengen took off across the fields with cotton balls stuffed up his nose to keep out the ants, my daughter nearly had a fit.

More people need to listen to OTR and like you did, set the mood. Isolate yourself from outside distraction and focus on it. It makes it Soo much better.

That's how my dad introduced me to OTR as well, with a rebroadcast in about 1970. The next week we listened to "Country of the Blind" and I was hooked.
