Spoiler : The actress who so beautifully goes toe to toe with Boris Karloff in the Lights Out performance of Cat Wife is Betty Winkler. She never became a major star but did considerable supporting work in the 1930s and early 1940s. Later in life she became something of a new age guru and a couple of her books are still available at Amazon. The school where I teach uses Cat Wife and a couple of other radio shows to help struggling readers achieve “fluency” by listening to the broadcast while following along on a copy of the script.
