| Plot | : | + "Death Laughs Last". A man needs $1500 for a brain surgeon to save his wife's life, but the money is not that easy to get. The story has a fine ironic ending. The "Traveler" jumps his sound effects cue at the end of the show. Jock MacGregor speaks on behalf of the National War Fund. An announcement is made that on October 7th, the show will switch to Saturdays at 10:30 P.M. (Eastern). The script was used on the program three years later and on "The Sealed Book" on September 9, 1945. Clint Garvey had never been the same after the death of Eddie Lamar. Eddie was his closest friend. They'd gone to school together, come up from the streets to the big time side by side, and their partnership had been a profitable one. Eddie had plenty of money, there were no domestic troubles, and his health was good. Clint has always seem puzzled why a man like Eddie would commit suicide. It just wasn't in the cards. Still, no matter how much pressure Clint put on the police department, their answer was always the same.... + Death Laughs Last is a story which follows the adventures of a man who thought he could commit murder and escape punishment… |
