As a fan of science fiction magazines, he believes that there are no limitations on what the human mind can create. The truth of this statement remains to be disproven as planes go faster and the army technology becomes more complex. + Muirock the bottom of a dried up lake is now the home of an air installation and all kinds of military airplanes where homed there. Max Westlake was a sergeant in 1937 who’s interested in science and skyrockets. Looking up one night he sees a parachute coming down with what looks like part of an airplane. A man was recovered from the crash landing and taken to the hospital with concussion. That man was a major in the United States Air force and his name was Max Westlake and he bore a striking resemblance to Sergeant Max Westlake…

"Ever heard of Muroc Dry Lake? Well, you go out San Fernando Road and you turn off at Fremont Pass onto 6th instead of going up over the Ridge Route. You go up through Mint Canyon, see, and on through Palmdale and Lancaster, then you take a road off to the right by the SP station. After about forty miles of Joshua trees you get to Muroc and a big, tough MP tells you turn around and go back where you came from. Because that's where they've got the jets, where guys are ringin' them out so fast they sometimes get where they're going before they've started."
