| Plot | : | The war is over and all that remains of the once proud city of Berlin is just destruction. As American soldiers try to reflect on their experiences in the city, a stranger comes by to their camp. It seems that he doesn't have any recollections of his home, friends and even his own identity. After inviting the person to eat with them, the soldiers discover more about the true identity of their mysterious visitor. It's Christmas in 1945, in a ruined house in conquered Berlin, Germany. Five soldiers are around a table beginning their Christmas dinner. Staff sergeant John Plantner was carving... The men are all reminiscing about their usual Christmas dinner's back home, and joking that they're going to go to one of the soldier's homes next year, when a lieutenant arrives with lots of Christmas goodies - including cranberry sauce, and several bottles of wine! |
