The story was subsequently produced on "Suspense" on October 7, 1954 and on April 21, 1957. + He had just pulled up in to Lansing when he saw the sign, Go slow and see our town, go slow and see our jail. He pulled over for a cup of coffee and then discovered that he’s forgotten his wallet after leaving following a row with his wife over giving their son a nickel, and he didn’t have a dime on him. Unable to pay for the coffee, a police officer in the café at the time asks him for his licence but this was also in his wallet. The Officer takes him to the police station and when he tries to ring his wife, still mad at him she won’t take his call. He asks for a nickel to ring his wife again but the officer says he’s had his call and puts him in jail on the grounds of suspicion. He ends up in jail all because he didn’t have one lousy nickel… |
