He has $250,000 stashed away, but is unable to get off a pair of handcuffs. A well-written drama for two voices and an excellent performance by William Powell. The story was subsequently used on "Suspense" on March 29, 1955. + Earl French devoted three years of his life embezzling a quarter of a million dollars. Of course they caught him but they couldn’t find the money so they handcuffed him and brought him to trial. He was sentenced to seven years. Then the train taking him to the penitentiary crashed and he escaped in his handcuffs… |
