Spoiler : This was a pleasant change of pace. I don't know how to touch on what I liked about "Decision" without giving away the ending, so don't read further if you prefer to remain spoiler-free. Being fairly well acquainted with this show and the crime genre in general, I initially thought I had a decent idea where this episode was going. A doctor falls for the wife of the grievously ill man he's treating, despite his moral qualms and his patient's housekeeper's warning that the wife is no good. Although the wife appears to reciprocate the doctor's feelings, it seems almost a foregone conclusion that she's merely toying with him in order to convince him to violate his professional ethics by either committing murder himself or turning a blind eye when she does. Once the husband does inevitably turn up dead, however, I will say that I began to reassess my original assumptions, at which point I did correctly guess what the "strange ending" would be, more or less. It's just kind of a breath of fresh air to listen to a relatively wholesome episode of The Whistler for once.
