There was practically no business, four hostesses all of them American were sitting drearily at the far end of the ballroom near the bar. One of them, Mary Wilmslow billed as Candy Porter just sat gazing drearily in to space thinking bitterly of the past from which for a while there seemed no escape. But for five months now she’d been relatively safe no one had been around asking any questions… |
