The company’s engagement at the opera house in Los Angeles had two weeks to run but Orianne Demarti whose beautiful voice was largely responsible for the success of the tour had other things on her mind. Orianne was no longer thrilled by the curtain going up, she was not new to the music world and moreover when she allowed herself she could feel the ears inside. She didn’t allow this often of course and certainly it was not being displayed at the moment. With Charles beside her quietly reassuring Orianne found it a simple matter to face the anger of the impresario Julio Cassini as she tore up her contract… |
