Plot | : | + CBS Pacific net. "Shakedown". Sponsored by: Signal Oil, Lee Tires. A scheme to extort a very valuable watch turns out to be a not very profitable crime. Not by a long shot, thanks to a certain engraving! Even stranger, the main character of each story is named "Lindquist." The script was possibly used subsequently on "The Whistler" on February 3, 1952 (and in fact, this may be that 1952 broadcast). His eyes swept over the deserted beach. It was January and Larry Evans told Marty Lindquist that he was likely to become an unemployed lifeguard. The thought of possibly becoming an unemployed lifeguard frightens him. The following morning he arrives at work earlier than usual, hours before the other employees come to work. He hopes to impress Mr Evans by tidying the locker room. As he enters the quiet locker room he notices the far door, the beach entrance door swinging on its hinges and notices Mr Evans out near the waters edge. Then he hears the cries of a woman out in the surf and sees Evans come out of the water. Quickly Marty enters the waters and saves the woman and wonders why Larry Evans deliberately left her to drown… |
