Plot | : | + "The (Hairy) Monster". Music fill for local commercial insert. A woman inherits a large mansion, grounds and furnishings. There are some unusual conditions that come with the inheritance. What is the strange creature that leaves 6-foot long hairs? Presented as 2 fifteen-minute programs, telling one story. At the start of the first program, Old Nancy claims to be 110 years old; a few minutes later she mentions that she's 118 years old. At the start of the second program, she claims to be 112 (women are known to be sensitive about their ages, but this is a bit much). This program was "produced by Air Features Syndicate" and distributed by "All-Star Broadcasts." This production (which may be Australian) uses a script originally heard on "The Witch's Tale" on September 26, 1932 (as "The Hairy Monster"), on December 31, 1934 (as "The Monster") on June 20, 1935 (as "Mrs. Hawker's Will") and April 5, 1938 (as "The Monster"). Based on a comparison of Nancy's "ages" on the recording compared to the actual scripts used in 1932, 1935 and 1938, the script and recording appear to be from 1934, but only "Old Nancy" knows for sure. + Four people at the stairs of a big house will soon learn about the hairy monster. The inside of miss Turners new mansion home that would soon be all hers if she carried out the wishes of Mrs Hawkins will. She had to live there continuously for one year beginning tonight. + That fine young girl named Barbara Turner inherited a fine big mansion that had originally been left to her sister by a strange old woman who’d made a lot of funny provisions in her will. Then the house stood empty for 5 years before the lawyers let Barbara have it. So when she came to take possession with her young brother and her aunt she was mighty happy, until she found her aunt lying in a room upstairs, stone dead. |
