Ben Selvin was playing in New York clubs at 15 because he was a “husky lad” and able to get in spite of his young age. He started his own band about the time the recording industry began expanding, and is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as having recorded more sides (mostly 78s) than any other musician, landing the title of “The Dean of Recorded Music”.
