Plot | : | + AFRS origination. A Christmas program. Jimmy Durante loses his place in the script as he tries to hire Herbert Marshall to be his butler! Shirley Dimsdale introduces her puppet "Judy Splinters" who uses her "television eyes" to look at servicemen around the world. Jack Benny stars in his version of, "Sorry, Wrong Number." Mel Blanc appears as "Private Sad Sack...The Perfect Man." Harpist Robert Maxwell plays a medley of Gershwin melodies. Edgar Bergen tries to get Charlie McCarthy to recite "'Twas The Night Before Christmas." Bob Hope throws a Christmas party at his house. Lauritz Melchior sings Christmas carols. A Christmas story called "The Other Wise Man," by Henry Van Dyke, features Robert Young and Marvin Miller. It's about the fourth wise man at the time of the birth of Jesus. See cat. #63087 which seems to be a 1948 Christmas special, but is a complete different broadcast with an entirely different cast. |
