The date above is the recording date, and might be March 22, 1942. + One corporal wrote to command Performance to ask, “How’s the feud getting on between Fred Allen and jack Benny?” And here to host this performance is the Eastern half of the feud Fred Allen who advises us that the feud has slowed down a little then commences with a barrage of jokes against Benny! other Commands bring music from Kenny Baker and comedy from Henny Youngman.

I listen of old time radio on Sirius/XM radio. I just heard the command performance episode hosted by Fred Allen and heard a singer named Galdys Swarthout. I had never heard that name before. So, I searched and found a picture of her on this site but not much of a bio. I enjoy listening to the old time radio programs on Sirius/XM. However, I wish there were recordings of my favorites from 1949-1953, like Tom Mix, Straight Arrow, Mark Trail, Bobby Benson and His B-Bar-B Riders. I still have a lot of Straight Arrow memorabilia from that time. Straight Arrow was sponsored by NABISCO Shredded Wheat and I ate a lot of boxes of that cereal just to get the "Injinuities" in the boxes.
