Like it's more famous cousin Command Performance, G.I. Journal was a transcribed series, edited together from separately recorded segments. The program was formatted as a military newspaper with each program’s guest host credited as "editor-in-chief," and the individual segments introduced as "columns." G.I. Journal aired from 1944 through 1946 over the Armed Forces Radio Service.
