Kennedy broadcasts from The Roosevelt Raceway, Westbury Long Island, as the racers are getting ready for the Vanderbuilt Cup race. From London, Paul Robeson sings "The Old Ark's a Moverin'," "Lindy Loo" and "Go Down Moses." Jane Froman sings, "Did I Remember" and "La Bomba." Milton Cross describes all the bad luck that has befallen Jane Froman's career; and this was before the 1943 plane crash that left her crippled and her 1945 addiction to painkillers. Next week's program will be pre-empted by a World Series game broadcast. |
