Marian Anderson sings from Prague: "Ave Maria" and "My Soul Is Anchored In The Lord" John B. Kennedy broadcasts from "The Seeing Eye" in Hanover, New Jersey, where dogs are taught to guide the blind. The visit is interesting listening but not very good radio. When Kennedy first enters the training kennel, the sound of barking almost drowns him out. The trainer reassures him that it's just the "freshman class." Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra play a medley starting with, "Penthouse Serenade." Ramona sings (and plays), "De-Lovely" (she's great as usual). The band swings "The William Tell Overture" (you can imagine the Lone Ranger going, "Hi de ho!"). Stoopnagle and Budd do a tribute to sound effects men called, "Sound Effects, I Love You." |
