The Revelers sing, "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" with Frank Black at the piano. John B. Kennedy reports from the Boy Scouts Jamboree Encampment in Washington, D.C. He interviews Scouts from around the around. The Goldman Band plays the finale of the overture to, "William Tell" and a medley that's just perfect for the 4th of July. From Hollywood, Irvin S. Cobb does a (somewhat) humorous monologue about celebrating the 4th of July. The program concludes with the entire New York ensemble (and the audience) playing and singing, "The Stars and Stripes Forever." A well-done and enjoyable variety show with the unique NBC polish. |
