Title | : | magic key, the (131) first song le caprice de nannette |
Air Date | : | 04.10.1938 ( April 10, 1938) |
Plot | : | + Blue Network. Sponsored by: RCA. The first selection is part of, "Petite Suite de Concert," by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Linton Wells (in New York City) interviews Wallace Carroll (United Press correspondent based in Geneva) who is aboard the U.S.S. Washington which is 2000 miles at sea. Mr. Carroll predicts that there will be no general war in Europe for another 2 years, but that war is inevitable. Mussolini can side with either Berlin or Britain. Germany will not annex Czechoslavakia. Mr. Carroll makes other interesting predictions. The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet sounds just like the Mills Brothers without the guitar. They do a great "Dipsy Doodle." Alexander Woolcott offers to buy an escape from the present and return to the world when he was 8-years-old. Delightful listening! The final commercial extensively quotes David Sarnoff as he congratulates RCA on the opening of the Bound Brook, New Jersey shortwave transmitters. |
