General Craig (in New York City) introduces the General Staff around the world and in New York City. Commander Brooks speaks from Randolph Field, Texas, where pilots are being trained. From Kelly Field, Colonel Lackland speaks (possibly Lackland Air Force Base was named after him). General Singleton trains the infantry from Fort Benning, Georgia. Colonel McCabe introduces the mechanized cavalry from Fort Knox. From San Francisco harbor, an army mine planter drops simulated mines. A coast artillery battery demonstrates an attack from Pearl Harbor. From Fort Monroe, Virginia and Langley Field, Virginia, anti-aircraft guns repel a hostile force of 30 bombers. There's almost a solid hour of bombs, bullets and explosions. The program concludes with a Choir from West Point, New York and the playing of the national anthem. The program possibly ran over and hour on the network. |
