Truly a milestone in the history of broadcasting. After the overture, the first selection is, "Dardenella." Bing sings, "Treasure Island." Edgar Guest speaks about the magic of radio. Bill "Bojangles" Robinson taps a solo number, which sounds suprisingly well on radio. Jolson's first song is, "The Cantor On The Sabbath" (in Yiddish)! Will Hays speaks at length about the wonders of motion pictures and radio. He predicts movies will soon be in color and "depth" (three dimensions). Jolson jokes (four times) about the length of Hays' speech. May Robson and Jolson recall Will Rogers, Marie Dressler, John Bunny and other Hollywood greats (they're sure these great performers are listening to this broadcast from heaven)! Jolson and Grantland Rice discuss football and the upcoming Rose Bowl. Irish tenor Phil Regan jokes with Al in a Yiddish accent!
