The Royal Gelatin Hour was 1929 musical variety radio program on NBC, which was sponsored by Fleischmann’s Yeast. The show was also known by its two other titles, namely The Rudy Vallée Show and The Fleischmann Hour. NBC executive Bertha Brainard was the one who pushed for the singer-bandleader Rudy Vallée to host the series. Apart from Vallée, Ole Olsen, Chic Johnson, and Henry Armetta were also listed as regulars in the show. After just a few months on air, Royal Gelatin Hour became top-rated show; in fact, it was hailed as one of the five most popular shows between 1929 and 1930 as well as in 1934 to 1935. The show had its last episode on September 28, 1939. Click here to read more about Rudy Vallee - Royal Gelatin Hour
