During the 1950s, the U. S. Department Of Agriculture & Forest Service syndicated 2 radio series of public service announcement radio programs featuring Smokey the Bear, and The Sons of the Pioneers. The first version is a 15 minute program, broadcast in 1955 to 1956, features Billy Johnson as host, with music by The Sons of the Pioneers. The second version is a 5 minute program, featuring the then voice of Smokey, with a short interview, or statement by a then current popular star of radio, TV or Movies, with music provided by The Sons of the Pioneers.
