Title | : | baby on the doorstep |
Air Date | : | 04.09.1947 |
Plot | : | + Sponsored by: Campbell's Soup, Franco-American Spaghetti. Del and Jack (singing in falsetto) sing a Campbell's Soup commercial to the tune of, "I Want A Girl, Just Like The Girl That Married Dear Old Dad." Jack exclaims, "Who the heck picked out this key, Dennis Day?" The comment is exactly the same as uttered by Bing Crosby, except Bing said "hell" on the air, while singing with The Mills Brothers on December 29, 1948 (see cat. #8274). Somebody has left a baby on Jack's doorstep. The note is signed by "Mrs. X." This avoids the subject of an unmarried mother. Norma Jean Nilsson seems to have been written out of the program. No mention is made of her. |
