The audition program of The Adventures of the Scarlet Cloak is the only surviving remnant of what could have been an interesting experiment near the end of the Radio era. The story is a thinly disguised sent up of the Zorro stories featuring the talents of Gerald Mohr, Paul Frees and Wendell Niles. Potential sponsors were told about the ‘visual appeal’ of the players in anticipation of the show being picked up for television.
