Plot | : | + CBS net origination, AFRTS rebroadcast. "The Loving Cup". Captain Quince has an unusual way to give Lieutenant Seiberts the confidence he needs to be a good officer. The program was recorded May 31, 1956. Captain Lee Quince is at Major Daggett’s home for dinner. After retreating for brandy and cigars, the Major diverts the conversation to Officer Sibberts, a good officer who has respect for the Captain’s rank, but fears him as a person. The Major is concerned this will make Sibberts ineffective. Captain Lee Quince needs to allow Sibberts to confront his fears. Major Hale lived through battles, terrible weather, disease, and Indians, but ended up getting killed in an innocent accident. His funeral is being held on top of a hill. Everyone is gathered around the grave as the Chaplain conducts the burial service. The Major had a lot of friends and one true love, Jessie his wife of thirty years. After thitry years as an army wife Jessie Hales decides not to become a civilian but to stay at Fort Laramie and put back what the army has taught her, and guiding new army wife Mrs Winton is a good place for her to begin. |
