Plot: + The first show of the series. A Dutchman draws a lynch mob after the whole town accuses him of murder. A very well-written story with a surprise ending. Georgia Ellis plays the widow of the dead man, not Miss Kitty! + Clay Richards is wanted for robbing a bank and for murdering an old cashier and a Chinese cook and the Marshall of Dodge City is on his trail, only to find that Zeigler the Dutchman has already found Clay's dead body. To add to Dillon's troubles he has a young runaway boy from Cottonwood to sort out, a boy by the name of William, otherwise known as Billy the Kid.

I'd have to agree with H.L.C. 100%. There is one commentary I'll add, and that is this episode commits an unforgiveable sin: It's boring. Not a typical Gunsmoke episode.

I've been a Gunsmoke fan for years. However, this episode does the series no good at all. I'm glad they changed the persona of Matt Dillon for the later episodes. This one is hard to take!

"Richard" Beals, whom I mentioned above, was known more widely as DICK BEALS.

I want to know the billy the kid actors name to help the kids of the now dead actor who with help of scripters did not show him alive again which is as you said the unforgivable sin.

The Billy the Kid character in this episode is played by Richard Beals, an adult actor whose child-like voice enabled him to play roles as children well into his adulthood. He was the voice of Speedy Alka-Seltzer and Davey in Davey and Goliath. He said in an interview that he had never supplied the voice of Gumby, even though many articles, including some obituaries, credited him with having done so.
