| Plot | : | + A buffalo hunter named Gatliff brings a dying buffalo skinner into Dodge. His face had been pushed into a pan of hot lead! Soon afterwards, a nester is found stabbed to death. This is the second of five "favorite" shows being re-run at the "request" of listeners. The story was previously used on the Gunsmoke series on May 9, 1953 an October 24, 1953.Gatliff and his men come in to Dodge with their hides but their skinner named Billy got hurt. Doc was unable to save him and he died. Gatliff said he was just a bum who worked for him and he was unwilling to pay for his funeral. Gatliff told Marshal Dillon that Billy had been melting lead for bullets and had burned himself but Matt Dillon doesn’t believe that Billy’s death was an accident.Includes sponsors Post Toasties commercial for Sugar Crinkles and cornflakes. |
