Chester and Matt Dillon US State Marshall were about 30 miles from Dodge when they run in to the buffalo camp. They’d been holed up for two days in a hut taking refuge from a blizzard. It was Chester who saw the camp first and when they approached the discovered an old man, Aaron Puckett hiding in the wagon. He’d been abandoned, left to freeze by his skinner, Jed Lorna who saw the blizzard and took off. Puckett swore he’d kill Jed Lorna for leaving him with a broken ankle to die in the blizzard. |
