Brake advised Marshall Matt Dillon that Springer was dangerous and asked for his help in taking him. Brake had been deputized and had a warrant for Springer's arrest for murder and the Sheriff in Mingo promised him $50 to bring him back dead or alive but Springer claimed he was innocent. |
