Dan Reid later overhears the killers plan to kidnap Mrs. Collyer and steal the gold on the stage being driven by the sons of Pop Collyer. + Two men sat tensely on their horses concealed by the sage rice, which fringed the mountain trail between their low pulled hat brims and the handkerchiefs, which disguised their faces their eyes flittered with anticipation as they watched a stagecoach racing toward them along the winding path. Then they slid their six-guns from their holsters and primed them for sudden death. |
