Spoiler : "Pilot episode," written by Cottonseed Clark (Sim Clark Fulks) for the ABC (Blue) Network; the script was being touted in radio trade magazines as early as June 1943. Texas-born Cottonseed Clark had been working as a writer, producer and announcer with the Blue Network in New York City, and took a "leave of absence" to visit Hollywood to work on Roy Rogers' show and to pitch the script to the network's execs there. He later ended up working on the Andrews Sisters' "Eight To The Bar Ranch" show as a writer, then produced and hosted "Hollywood Barn Dance" and "All-Star Western Theater" for the CBS Pacific Network.
